Emptiness inside my heart
That never goes away
A gaping hole so deep and wide
Like the ocean blue
Stretching on forever
The promise of love eludes me
I once was married and
Thought I had found forever
Only to realize that forever
Was not as long as I dreamed
Single again looking
To find my forever love
Searching through all
The land over the sea and beyond
Many times I have opened
My heart only to have it crushed
By those who have no care
For this tender butterfly
Now I have found the one
I seek and I do not know
If I have the strength to open
My heart once again
I do not know if I trust
My wings to fly in his arms
I have trust so many before
I am afraid to let myself feel
Please God tell me if he is the one
