Anniversary of Love

Today, one whole year has come and gone
Since the day your heart and mine
Met and agreed to twine
Themselves in conjugal bond as one.

Today, the globe has returned again
To the spot where it began its journey
That moonlit night, sweet as honey,
When our journey of love first began.

Today, we have counted one whole year;
Next, we shall count another still,
And yet more and more years till
Our children’s children begin to rear.

O what boundless joy thrills my heart now
That Heaven should mark me out above
All men to bless me with such Love
So perfect, and a goodly queen such as thou.

Today, the globe has returned again
To the spot where it began its journey
The moonlit night, sweet as honey,
When our journey of Love first began.
